Los Angeles Shopping

Giant Robot
This is undoubtedly one of Los Angeles's most beloved retail stores. It doesn't seem to have anything you'd expect to find, and is therefore truly meant for the shopper with an affinity for browsing. A perfect stop for those on your gift list this holiday season, Giant Robot sells everything from t-shirts to fine art prints - all beautifully designed, of course.

Wasteland
Everyone has no doubt heard tell of this must-stop shop on Melrose, and no one should leave LA without visiting at least once. It's important to have a bit of time to spend here, as sorting through the collection of vintage and designer pieces requires some patience. Shoppers who have their minds in the right place, however, will be able to hone in on great prices on some of the trendiest brands – including Cheap Monday, Mink Pink, Factory, Mary Meyer, Obesity & Speed, and Stylestalker.

Melrose Trading Post
This flea market has a little something for everyone. If you didn't come to Los Angeles to shop at yet another Urban Outfitters or American Apparel, you'll surely appreciate all that the Melrose Trading Post has to offer. Customers pay $2 to browse a serious collection of vintage clothing, as well as shoes, accessories and nearly all other imaginable commodities.

Echo Park Independent Co-Op
Although still relatively new, this Echo Park hot spot has quickly become one of the neighborhood's most prized possessions. It's not just the origami swan chandelier, either. In spite of its tree-hugging name, E.P.I.C. has managed to cultivate a reputation as one of Los Angeles's premiere boutiques. Lovers of fashion come here to browse the work of more than 40 local designers, and some of the most cutting edge garments and accessories on the West Coast.

Paul & Joe
Fashionistas are already familiar with this label, which had its beginnings as a menswear line. Currently the brand hosts four lines: men's, women's, affordable womenswear, and children's. This, the label's first-ever outpost, is also the only shop that carries all four of its collections. Paul & Joe represents a French sense of fashion in the garment department and adds a bit of LA flair with its cat-shaped lipsticks and collections of glittery eye shadow.
